TEXAS DECA RISING STARS
The Rising Stars program is designed to recognize and empower underclassmen student members across Texas.
The ideal Rising Stars nominee is a student that is engaged in your chapter, excited about the organization, and shows promise as a leader and ambassador for your program.
The Rising Stars do NOT have to be chapter officers or 2nd/3rd year members.
A chapter can recognize the following:
Two (2) students that are either a Freshman (9th) or Sophomore (10th)
OR
One (1) student that is either a Freshman (9th) or Sophomore (10th) AND One (1) Junior (11th).
ADVISORS MUST NOMINATE RISING STARS USING THE POSTCARDS PROVIDED IN THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL BOX FROM TEXAS DECA. THE LINK TO REGISTER FOR RISING STARS IS AVAILABLE ON THE PROVIDED POSTCARD.
BENEFITS
In addition to staying informed, building a network, and learning how to better grow in DECA, Rising Stars who attend multiple calls can earn special rewards. Call attendance for benefits is calculated based on September - January attendance.
Attend 3 Calls = Earn a Certificate and Ribbon at SCDC
Attend 4 Calls = Above + Rising Stars Lapel Pin and Digital Badge
Attend 5 Calls = Above + Rising Stars Specific ICDC Trading Pins, Eligible for ICDC Voting Delegate and Elevate Academy Drawing (15 total spots available)

September 8 - Understanding Your DECA Leadership Style + Leading without a Title
October 13 - Getting Engaged in DECA Month + District and State Leadership Opportunities
November 10 - Leadership Lesson
December 2 - Communication + Professional Presence
January 12 - Leadership Lesson
March 9 - Future Chapter Officer
May 11 - Reflection, Celebration + Next Steps
