The Texas DECA Social Media Team will assist with creating content that showcases chapter highlights, member experiences, and the spirit of Texas DECA.

APPLICATION PROCESS & REQUIREMENTS

To apply, you must:

  • Be a sophomore, junior, or senior with at least one year of DECA experience

  • Follow @TexasDECA on Instagram

  • Have an Instagram account that you’ll use to post Texas DECA content (can be personal or DECA specific)

  • How an understanding of the Texas DECA brand and online image as well as your capability to create and edit video content

  • Submit the full application

  • Have a recommendation for a chapter advisor or district director (will be auto-sent to them to complete when you finish your application)

  • Submit 2 completed videos based on these prompts: Recap your involvement in DECA over the last year; What DECA means to you

  • Submit 5 content ideas: 2 original, 3 based on provided topics

joining the social media team is an opportunity to:

  • Build a creative portfolio with real-world content

  • Learn from social media professionals and guest speakers

  • Represent your chapter and district statewide

  • Collaborate with student leaders across Texas

monthly team commitments

  • Sign up for video topics

  • create engaging and original video content

  • Attend 1 monthly team meeting

  • submit content by the last week of the month

  • Engage and share @TexasDECA posts

additional expectations:

  • Partner with the State Officer team to make DECA Month content

  • Make at least 10 videos

  • Earn 15 points to serve on the State CDC Social Media Team
