Shrey Addagatla serves as the Texas DECA Vice President of Chapter Management, as a part of Team 73. He is a senior at Wakeland High School and has been in DECA since his sophomore year. As a DECA member, Shrey has helped his chapter advance by assisting in campaign efforts and competition preparation.
Alongside DECA, Shrey participates in many activities in his school and community. He is a member of the Wakeland Band and is a proud tubist. He is also actively engaged with Students Helping Honduras, a student volunteer organization which seeks to build sustainable schools in Honduras to alleviate poverty and gang violence. Shrey enjoys learning how organizations function, so he is heavily involved with politics in his community through internships and youth councils.
In the future, Shrey hopes to attend a top-tier university and major in business administration. After completing his undergraduate studies, Shrey plans to enter a joint MBA/JD program to pursue a career in business law, or even politics. He aspires to promote positive reforms on a large scale to benefit his constituents, similar to his role in Texas DECA.
This year, Shrey hopes to expand Texas DECA's ability to empower students with business knowledge and connections in his role. In addition, he would like to see new chapters established and emphasize the non-competitive aspects of DECA. He seeks to grow chapters across the great state of Texas and provide their students with the necessary skills to thrive in their future career.
