“When you’re in a new city the most important thing to do is what? Okay…after sightseeing. Eat at new and exciting restaurants of course! It is such a thrilling experience trying new cuisines in a city abnormal to your own. Say goodbye to your typical fast food pleasures, and say hello to all new, restaurants as you visit Dallas, Texas for this years Texas DECA State Career and Development Conference.

1.    Hypnotic Donuts

Hypnotic Doughnuts is sinfully delicious, overly sweet pastries that fill your breakfast cravings! I am down for that. They are proud to say they were one of the most Instagramed images of 2012, and since then, they have only grown in size. Can’t leave leave the hotel room because your chapter is busy studying? That’s okay, because Hypnotic Donuts delivers! Hypnotic Donuts receives 4 out of 5 stars by Yelp.

2.    Sushi Zushi

Sushi Zushi is located in the West Village shopping center in Uptown Dallas. West Village is Dallas’ most vibrant, walkable, shopping and dining district. They offer many different sushi options, some include raw seafood, or cooked seafood, and they even serve sushi with no seafood at all! They offer many different Japanese cuisines such as Mochi ice cream, Kara Agge, and Yakimeshi. This restaurant is definitely a unique restaurant and is definitely worth a try! Yelp gives Sushi Zushi 3 out of 5 stars.

3.    Cindi’s New York Delicatessen

Cindi’s has five locations in Dallas, Texas. They serve many different gourmet breakfast foods. They are well known for their coffee and phenomenal omelets, and they also serve great NY deli style sandwiches; soups; and salads! Always go on a empty stomach because their portions are enormous and you won’t be able to say no. Cindi’s New York Delicatessen received 4 out of 5 stars of the Yelp scale.

4.    Snuffer’s

Snuffer’s is located conveniently on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, Texas. Snuffer’s is an American Homestyle classic type restaurant. They offer burgers, nachos, cheese fries, and more. You will always be satisfied, and the prices are very reasonable! Their burger selection is quite large, and all options are unique to their restaurant. Yelp gives Snuffer’s 3.5 out of 5 stars.

5.    Serious Pizza

Serious Pizza is referred to as Texas sized pizza. Texas is the 2nd largest state in the United State, and  everyone knows everything is bigger and better in Texas: the hair, the heels, and the food. Serious Pizza has one location off Elm Street in Deep Ellum and their pizzas measure between 18 and 30 inches. Crazy I know, but insanely delicious! Yelp gives Serious Pizza 3.5 out of 5 stars.

6.    Mi Cocina

The ambiance at Mi Cocina is very charming. You won’t even realize you’re in a Tex-Mex restaurant with the quality of service their wait staff provides. The restaurant itself serves traditional “upscale” Tex-Mex food. The guacamole is always fresh and a hit among larger parties. The chips and salsa are to die for, and I have yet to have an entrée fail my taste buds. Yelp gives Mi Cocina a 4 out of 5.

7.    Chills 360

Chills 360 is also located on Elm Street in Deep Ellum. Deep Ellum is a neighborhood in East Dallas composed largely of arts and entertainment venues. Chills 360 is the most popular rolled ice cream place in Texas, though it is Thai inspired. They pour freshly made cream on cold plates that reach well below -16 degrees Fahrenheit and top it with a variety of toppings of your choice. Yelp gives Chills 360 3.5 out of 5 stars.

8.    Emporium Pies

Emporium Pies is a specialty pie shop in the heart of the Bishop Arts District. The Bishop Arts District is rich in history, and has been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, and The Daily Beast. Most of the pies are $6 a slice and promise to melt in your mouth. Yelp gives Emporium Pies 4.5 out of 5 stars.

9.    Liberty Burger

Their slogan is “Give me liberty or let me starve!” They offer any style burgers from a classic to a Frito Chili Pie Burger. They have two locations both in the heart of Dallas, and multiple other locations around the metroplex. 10/10 recommendation from me, but Yelp gives Liberty Burger 4 out of 5 stars.

10.    Sablon Chocolate Lounge

Lastly the Sablon Chocolate Lounge is located in Uptown Dallas right inside the West Village. The lounge is any chocolate lovers dream, and the desserts have been referred to as “off the charts.” Yelp gives Sablon Chocolate Lounge 3.5 out of 5 stars.
